NaBloPoMo – Cameras – Zenit Photosniper FS-12

Perhaps my favorite camera.  A Zenit Photosniper.  Model FS-12 based on the Zenit 12XP with a Tair 300mm lens.  Contrary to popular belief,  the Photosniper was not developed for the KGB.  However its predecessor, the FS-2 was used during WWII as a surveillance camera.  Surely it and its derivatives were used to capture evidence.

Mine was made in 1987.  I purchased it in the late 1990s.  I can't remember the exact date.  I had recorded all my camera purchases in an Excel file but unfortunately the hard drive has crashed.  I am a bit concerned on using it it public since 9/11.  The pic here is indeed from the Wikipedia page as I posted it.
