Oh, you guys are lucky! Those are lilies of the valley and they have a most wonderful scent! I'm surprised they just appeared out of nowhere, though.

  2. brownamazon says:

I love a lily of the valley colony… pick some and stick them in little glasses all over the house. They smell gorgeous.

  3. Waterbaby says:

certainly among the more attractive of the weeds!

  4. Morgat says:

I'd be more inclined to call them "volunteers" rather than "weeds" — but, as arbed said, Lilies of the Valley for sure.

  5. Dancing Bear says:

I see Lillies of the valley and Mountain Laurel it seems. Mountain Laurel is just Bay leaves.

  6. Lord Kalvan says:

The "weeds" notation comes from when the plants first sprouted (before they bloomed) and I noticed them. I asked mariser if she knew what they were.

  7. Lord Kalvan says:

Not sure how they got here. But never seen the flowers till this year. Maybe they were dormant?

  8. Lord Kalvan says:

Actually we have Rhododendrons of some sort.

  9. Dancing Bear says:

Mountain Laurel and Rhododendrons are both Ericaceae family. Waxy evergreen leaves. Usually in 5's but not always. Cluster heads of flowers. Some poisonous, some medicinal. Pest resistant.

    Purdy! I love those!!
