NaBloPoMo – Communications: Yaesu VX-7R

This is a nice little HT.  It receives from broadcast AM (540 KHz) through 1 GHz.  It transmits on the 50, 220, 144, 430 MHz amateur radio bands.  I bought it used from a local ham who didn’t want to get new reading glasses to be able to read the display.    I use it for everything from a police scanner, AM/FM broadcast radio receiver, weather radio to actually an amateur radio transceiver.

It’s submersible, too? He could have dropped it in a glass of water instead of reading glasses! But I guess that would have made pushing buttons a bit challenging. 🙂
